Each November the Essendon Bushwalking Club holds a marathon day walk of about 42km usually somewhere on the Great Dividing Trail in central Victoria. This year we are departing a little from this format as the walk is from Linton to Ballarat, mainly along the Skipton Rail Trail. (It is planned to use part of the Rail Trail in a future extension of the Great Dividing Trail to the Grampians). For details of this year’s Marathon please click HERE. Last year’s event was from Blackwood to Bacchus Marsh, a distance of 45km. Photos of the 2009 Marathon are now available HERE.
